Is satellite cable same as coaxial cable?

Hi All!

Can I use http://www.screwfix.com/prods/94205/Electrical/Cable/Coaxial-Cable/Labgear-Satellite-Coax-Cable-Black-100m instead of ordinary coaxial cable, for the tv extensions I want to put in the bedrooms?

It's similar price, but looks better quality.

Yes, looks good. Just dont try and bend it too tight, ie. make a nice slow bend to avoid breaking the foil screen.

The answer to the question in your title is definitely "No". Satellite cable needs to be better quality than "general purpose coax". A good explanation is given here:

As you say, the Screwfix product does appear to be quite good, though one with copper foil might be better, in that it may take flexing/bending better than aluminium.

If your cable runs are not TOO long, then the quality of the cable is not all that important. They dont quote attenuation figures but as I said before, it looks pretty standard (as good as ordinary coax).
