CAR BREAKDOWN COVER NOT REQUIRED - REFUND?
My named driver had to take out expensive breakdown cover when my car broke down 150 miles away (she couldn't find my own policy at the time). They towed her to a local garage. But she doesn't need it - she uses a mobility scheme car - is there any way she can get a partial refund? We don't need 2 policies for my car. Grateful for any advice. J

What does the cancellation policy say, in the terms she agreed to by buying the cover?
If you're not sure, let us know who the provider was, and we can find it.
But - as a general rule - she bought it because she needed to use it there and then. It did its job.0 -
No chance getting a refund on a policy that you have claimed on, the cost of the tow would have easily exceeded the premium paid.

Her motability scheme does not cover her for your car, it is only specific to the one car on the scheme so yes she does need it when she's driving your car. If your breakdown cover covers the policy holder and not the vehicle then unless she was also on that policy she'd still need it.As above you don't get refunds on insurance when you've used it. They could of course refund her the £150 but then bill her £1.50 per mile for transporting the vehicle.0

So does she have her own Motorbility car as well? As you OP is confusing.
