hi
I have had the unfortunate experience of dealing with close brothers motor finance
I have had to deal with
credit fraud (car dealer)
threatening behaviour (car dealer)
theft of vehicle parts (car dealer)
damage to the vehicle front and rear bumpers (car dealer)
close brothers have done !!!!!! all about it all apart from
threatening me with forced rejection of the vehicle ,cancellation of the contract and repossession of the vehicle if I will not stop the warranty claim for essential repairs to the vehicle
they have been threatening me nicely over the phone not in writing I have complained about this nothing was done apart from they said the person had done nothing wrong
they wanted me to reject the vehicle and charge me for all of the damage the car dealer had done to the vehicle while it was in his care to diagnosis the faults
i have a video of evidence of before and photo evidence of after I received the vehicle back close brothers will not accept the evidence as the quotes are for £2700 and £1800 they want me to pay for this plus mileage charge
Close brothers have been very crafty in what they are doing putting lots and lots of pressure on me to return the vehicle
As this will make them more money and as I was told “it’s better for us and our business partner if you loose your money rather than us”
this just states what they are going to do “screw me over”
The staff at close brothers are abusive they protect their department
you don’t get to speak to the managers as the customers are just muggles and are beneath them
they are very tactical in how they deal with you pushing you into either loosing money for paying for repairs yourself or being screwed over in returning the vehicle
they used the knowledge of my wife is seriously ill with cancer and used it against me/us
they put me under that much pressure over the  last 13 months i had a stroke in the end
so I took the tactic of paying off the contract and took them to court
the f o s are involved that is on going
the f c a have been informed of the credit fraud and the cover up by close brothers
trading standards have been informed
this company is despicable and something should be done about them

Very interesting story, whats your question for the Money Saving folk?
  • Dear oh dear oh dear - what a rant with no apparent questions in there for us MSers!

To put into context, Close Brothers have been trading for 142 years and are a member of the FT250 largest public companies in the UK so presumably have many satisfied customers. Whilst I am far from clear on exactly what Close are supposed to have done wrong here, it is very unwise to made allegations of criminality on a public forum using your real name and number. I would delete this post before their legal department spot it!
  • Just looks like nonsensical spam to me - reported it.

    Hi
close brothers motor finance are criminals they are ripping off honest hard working people and are getting away with it
I don’t care if there legal team gets hold of my comments as I have told them direct what I think
this has been my experience with them it has been awful and I used them to give me some protection against a car dealer in reality in the end I needed protecting from them
they use the “rejection of the vehicle “ as a tool to make money off there customer you don’t get back the full amount of money you’ve paid for the vehicle the company is out of control and non of the authorities want to tackle them it’s a shame it should not happen as the law is on my side but close brothers motor finance just make the moves just to look good but actually do !!!!!! all
yes it is a rant I am frustrated I am now recovering from a stroke caused by excessive stress caused by close brothers and the lack of help out there
    nasty nasty company

You do realise that it defamation and you leave yourself open to legal action.

  • They didn't rip off anyone. They didn't damage your car, the dealership did. The dealership have nothing to do with the finance company other than using them so people who can't afford to buy a car can get a car.
I have no idea what you think happens when you reject a vehicle but they do not make money off it.
If someone owed you money you'd want it back wouldn't you?
