iWeb or Halifax Sharedealing

Looking to move my S&S ISA to either iWeb or Halifax Sharedealing. As I understand it they are both owned by Halifax and run the same software. But iWeb is a bit cheaper. So does Halifax Sharedealing have any plus points over iWeb?

Halifax Sharedealing has a regular investing service charging £2 per trade. This can make it cheaper for some.

Thanks. It is unlikely that I will be making regular investments.

In which case iWeb is the winner provided you are happy to pay the setup fee.

IWeb's setup fee is equivalent to two years annual fees at HSDL. After that you're in profit.

But IWEB charge only £5 to buy/sell, whereas Halifax Sharedealing charges £12.50 ;)

I've been with IWEB since 2014 and am happy with what they provide. Very cheap and efficient service for lump sum, buy & hold investor. Just be aware they don't offer every fund you might want to buy, so check before you commit.

and if not, ask. I've had a fund appear after contacting them about it. The choice seems a lot more now than when I first  started.

I've been happy with iWeb too. It's easy to use and cheap.
  • Can't speak for H'fax but been using iWeb for years now with no issues...
