I've been with this lot for a few years now. I pay by DD, there are no issues with the account being paid on time every time. They unilaterally decided my DD would increase without discussion, they simply applied the increase. My account balance at the moment is several £££. Is there a facility to be billed for the energy I've used each month bearing in mind I submit readings timeously. Other suggestion is they lower my DD to a point we can agree on and if my energy usage climbs above this then they can simply amend that months debit.
I'm getting to the point I resent them sitting on my money.

    It's called Variable Direct Debit.
    Many suppliers offer it including Shell Energy, E.On, ESB, SSE, Green Network Energy, Robin Hood and Ecotricity, but beware that RHE may be sold or close.
    Usual rules apply, e.g. start comparing with Citizens Advice and Switch with Which?, ignore all projections and claimed savings, compare annual costs from actual meter readings.  Single fuels are often cheaper.

    I submitted reading on 3rd August to People's Energy, and bill is issued within ten minutes.
    The following day I received an email titled "Changes to your monthly payment" indicating that my DD was increasing by £4.75 per month, which I was expecting at some point as I had understated consumption figures at joining as the tariff was requiring a double DD at opening.
    I think Peoples Energy have been the best Energy supplier I have used. Simple joining process, accurate bills within minutes of submitting readings, clear website  and reasonable prices. Hope they are still competitive at renewal time.
