Hi
im due to start jury service in a few weeks. My employer won’t pay me for this so I need to do a loss of earnings form. I’m a restaurant / pub manager in a theme park My usual working week is mon, tues ( wed, Thursday off) Fri, sat, sun
so 5 over 7 days. As the form only states mon - fri hours and advises against employees working evenings and weekends, my shifts will need to be covered in advance on the rota. So my question is. Will I lose out on the 2 days pay that I would normally earn when working or will the court expenses form cover these days?

I would just work the weekends if you can, they only advise against not doing it and not a rule you have to follow if you need the income.0

I'd suggest you look at your house insurance to see if you have legal cover. If so it may pay out for your loss of earnings.0

https://www.gov.uk/jury-service/what-you-can-claim-if-you-are-an-employee
You can look into this (it’s daily) and paid 7-10’days after the claims submitted
You can claim up to £64.95 for loss of earnings, childcare & care costs,
Travel costs to & from court
& 5.71 for food and drink0 -
Just work the Saturday and Sunday as normal.
