Can a CCJ be linked to a default

Options
Hello, I wonder if anyone can help. I have a CCJ on my credit report, I'm pretty sure I know the company it's for. I also have a default for the same company. I was just wondering if the CCJ could be the result of that defaulted account, or if the CCJ would cancel off the default it originally was? I'm clearing up my credit score, and want to pay them both, but I'm unsure if it's actually just the same debt at different stages and therefore should only pay one?
I hope this makes sense
TIA

You don't have a credit score. You have a credit history. Paying the debt will not remove it from your history, it will simply show it as satisfied.
What was the date of the CCJ?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • The CCJ was added to my file in 2018. I understand paying things won't take anything off my file, I just wondered if I paid the CCJ, if I would still have to pay the default if it is actually the same debt, or if paying the CCJ will cause the default to show as satisfied. I'm nearly 100% sure the default is the same credit card that the CCJ is for

    Hi,
You don’t pay a default, a default is an event, not a debt, the default just shows when the account defaulted, and how much was owed at the time.
The creditor then chose to take you to court, and you have a judgement to repay that debt.
Once paid the judgement will show as satisfied, the associated default will show as settled, they are one and the same debt, not separate debts.
