PLEASE HELP..PCN - What option to click when appealing with template??

Hi All
Someone please help...I received a Highview parking notice (PCN) which is due at £55 to be paid BEFORE 14 August 20. I have gone to the appeal screen to submit the blue template text and entered my car reg and PCN number. At the bottom, I dont get the option to select being the keeper. I get these 2 options only:

"Tick here to confirm that you were the driver and that the PCN you have received contains the correct information
"Tick here to confirm that you were not the driver or that the PCN you have received contains incorrect information"
Which do I select please?

ALSO. I only have a few hours before the charge jumps from £55 to £95 (on the 14th as they state in the letter). Should I be concerned? Thanks a million guys.

Clearly your situation fits the second option there.
Notice the word 'or' in it.

Their discount is only there to get your to pay something, and to pay something quickly.

I thought you would be going for the 100% MSE discount.  ;)

The 14 day discount for mugs is irrelevant. I believe it is already covered in the NEWBIES.

The NEWBIES tells you not to reveal the driver's identity. One of the options you have shown us does just that, so that leaves you one other option.

It will probably default to Driver, and will do so again if you click anywhere else on the screen, so triple check before you submit it.

What happened when you complained to the landowner?

Where did the alleged event take place?

I married my cousin. I had to...
    I don't have a sister. :D

  • OK, so I selected the second option ("Tick here to confirm that you were not the driver or that the PCN you have received contains incorrect information") and ended in the next screen as below. So i guess just give my actual name etc and submit.
BUT I am still concerned that if they dont accept the appeal then i will end up being requested the maximum £95 in a few hours? :(  Sorry, a newb here.

Yes, of course the keeper supplies his real name and address.

Oh yes, you will be requested to pay the maximum £95 when your appeal is rejected, but that does not mean you pay anything.

Follow the guidance in the NEWBIES thread and you will pay nothing.

Highview do not comply with the law named POFA, its that simple, so a keeper has no liability

they may cancel after seeing the blue text appeal, knowing they are on a loser

if not, POFA protects you as keeper at POPLA, on appeal number 2

You will win as long as the driver is not admitted - stop panicking.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I really dont get why people pay attention to these trp  check boxes. You state in the appeal that you were forced, in order to make an appeal, to select from statements that do not fit the situaiton and / or require you to make statements that you are under no obligation to answer. As such any statement is disclaimed and was made at random.

I sympathise.  If you've never received a PCN before then it's probably better to agonise over every little thing early on.

OP, don't fret.  See Coupon-mad's post above.  Check out the Newbies' thread and do a search for 'Highview' to read up on Highview cases.  Then you'll feel a lot more optimistic and know when to be rigorous and when to do nothing.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs, and in some cases, cancellation.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up later this year,

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these companies, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.
