How to fill the gap between the cooker and worktop?

I found an old thread about this and got all excited, but the Smith's silicone gap fillers are no good to me, as the range is higher than the worktop. I thought I once saw some kind of expandable thingy, but of course now that I need it, I can't find it!
The gap is about 2.5cm.

Did you try lowering the cooker? I think it has to have the option of adjusting the height.
