After trying for several months St.Giles Hotel London has replied about a refund for a booking they had cancelled. They say due to moving to a new portal since my payment was made they will need the following details : my phone number, card type, expiry date of card, a print screen of payment made from a bank statement and reconfirm the account. They want to phone me to get the card number after sending details.
It just seems to be a lot of information to ask for and feels wrong to be giving it. Am I wrong to be concerned? How should I proceed?
Any advice gratefully received.

It was when I input the details onto a computer booking system and not an actual person who could could use them for a personal shopping spree.0

like the hotels site.
That aside, yes provide them with what they have asked.0 -
The information you have been asked for is only partial, so whoever takes it can't rob you and run off with your dosh. Unless they want to lose their job - and it is very risky for them because there may or not be much in your account for them to steal.
This is the information most establishments ask for when you do transactions by phone. You've already given it online where it could have been hacked. As long as they don't ask for your PIN, which you should never give, obviously.
Just make sure you keep an eye on your accounts, I'm sure it'll all be fine. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts.
