Time to get rid of the car.
Too many expensive defects to be worth spending any money on.

sorry to hear that..how much did they ask for repairing it?
Lol they can't do bodywork so I'd have to take it elsewhere and don't think I will bother to be honest. I've had the car 10 years..from a value perspective it's done v well for me so can't complain..bought from a approved main dealer for less than £5k.

What you need to clarify with the garage is what exactly is failing due to rust. I read item 2 to be rust in the subframe. If the mounting point in the body is sound just get tge subframe replaced. Item 1 is also likely to be rust in the subframe.

If the rest of the car is OK its worth having the subframe replaced. Whilst they are doing the subframe get the lower arms replaced as they need to take them off to remove the subframe and the advisory shows they are getting tired. Subframe rot on the Corsa seems to be a common problem.

Sort the headlight (second hand unit from breakers if the brackets are broken), clean or replace the wipers and a couple of tyres.

Should come in under £750. What sort of replacement could you buy for £750.

They don't need to. It's not bodywork per se such as dent repairing and painting a car, it's structural welding on an unseen part underneath and when you do your City and Guilds as a trainee mechanic you are taught welding. As long as they've got the gear there to do it they can do it.

I spoke with the mechanic, he told me that the rest of the car looks fine and that next year i am not going to have issues like that(corrosion related) for sure. He is positive that it has at least 4-5 years more without major issues, he found replacements second hand and the it is going to cost me between 500-550£ all together. I told him to proceed as i am on a tight budget and after a couple of years probably i would be getting an almost new car( my options for a new car right now were extremely limited cause of my budget).
