Additional Stamp Duty Paid - Where Do I Stand Now?

After being unable to sell our home we bought a bungalow and paid the 3% additional stamp duty 6 months ago.
Fast forward and my wife is unhappy here, wants to sell the bungalow and go back to our original house.
Does anyone know if there is any way to reclaim the 3% extra stamp duty paid?

No, that's not possible. It would be possible if it was your first property you were selling.
  • Thanks for the replies. It's what I thought but wasn't 100%.
Fingers crossed things settle down a bit as it's a lovely bungalow.

If you can't sell your old home you need to see what feedback any viewers have made, improve the property or reduce the price.
    Maybe rent it out !

If you move back to your original house, what will you do with the bungalow?
  • We would sell the bungalow and move back.
Being a landlord doesn't appeal to be honest, especially with some of the problems I see reported here.
I hope my wife will settle given a bit more time. Thanks again for all your help, I just wanted to clarify the stamp duty issue.
