Is it okay to spend on a Balance Transfer card first?

Hope I don't sound stupid but have got a Balance Transfer card on the way and was thinking of spending on it first just to use the chip & pin. It would activate the contactless feature instead of waiting 20 months.
Pay that off and then transfer a balance the next month to take advantage of the 0% rate.

No problem as long as you pay off the full statement balance on time. You will activate the contactless when you change the PIN in a cashpoint machine anyway but it would likely expire due to lack of use so would need doing again after the 20 months is up.
