With a new baby born when will my payments reflect this? Will i get instantly given the extra child element or have to wait a month and then get extra as it is backdated? So if i am paid 1st have baby 5th will i not see any new child element till 1st next month? But in that payment see child element and a extra back payment for missing month?
Also, turn 2 us and entitled to has y maximum allowance to be £1515 (2 children, 2 adults and house costs) i thought this was £1666.67 isnt this wrong?

You will get the child element added for the whole of the assessment period in which the birth takes place (provided you report the birth to UC). This means you are entitled to it in the next payment following the birth unless the birth takes place within the week prior to your payment date.
If your payment date is the 1st and the baby is born on the 5th then your next payment should include the child element.
The benefit cap includes Child Benefit so you need to deduct the Child Benefit received for two children from the benefit cap figure to arrive at the maximum UC payable - hence the difference.rennies02 said: Also, turn 2 us and entitled to has y maximum allowance to be £1515 (2 children, 2 adults and house costs) i thought this was £1666.67 isnt this wrong?Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. I don’t understand what you are saying. As per my previous replyrennies02 said: So im clear then my next payment i will just get normal allowance not extra back payment for the time between now and nxt pay on top of usual money?
UC is paid in arrears. You have a monthly assessment period and you are paid one week after the end of the assessment period. You will get paid the child element for the whole assessment period in which the birth occurs. If the birth happens to fall at the last day of the AP you effectively get paid extra money for a period of nearly a month before the birth - but obviously the payment itself is after the birth.calcotti said:You will get the child element added for the whole of the assessment period in which the birth takes place (provided you report the birth to UC). If you are paid on the 1st your AP is roughly 25th to 24th of the month. Your child is born on 5th August. Your payment on 1st September will include the child element for the period 25th July to 24th August.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated.
