Morning all
We had some rain in the night which I was hoping it would make it cooler but it has made no difference at all !! still hot and muggy the rain is meant to be back at 11 but there is not a cloud in the sky so I am not sure !
I am off shopping this morning I hate that job, its never as bad once I get there but I would rather not go at all ! will take the dogs out later and hope that its cooled down a bit by then.
Not sure about dinner yet It depends what is on my list for the shop but it will be something cold with salad.
Nels what a s**t day you had yesterday I hope your legs feel better soon and I think you would be completely justified in matricide, I would let you off any day !! I shall be at the spa and I shall have a double insomniacs cocktail please xx
TA oh no poor you I hope they get it done quickly and that Sparkle can cope with the noise xx
Have good days all xx

Morning al! Blessedly cool outside at last. Unfortunately, the house didn't get this memo and is leaking all the heat stored in the walls from the sun so it's stifling inside. I've opened as many doors and windows as I can but there's not much breeze. This very small! heat spell has reinforced the idea of air conditioning when the house is done [ by the time we get it done, we may as well knock this one down and start from scratch]I am off out at some point today to install some software on a friends laptop in exchange for a tray of eggs [local farm to them]. There won't be any social contact just a very long extension lead to the garden. She's not especially well so I won't be going near her just in case. I can now finally get round to making the chilli jelly because the apples have already been sorted and bad ones thrown out. This does mean I have to get more blackberries though for bramble jelly. A lot of these pots will be christmas presents for friends because during a garden meet up two weeks ago we decided a cap on Christmas gifts, so anything I make will be 'free'. although I will add in the cost of jars or sugar so as not to 'cheat' the spending limit. I also told them no birthday gifts except what they can make but it turns out they are more organised than me [no surprise there] and have already bought things :::sigh::: it's not till December!Nelski, what on earth? what a !!!!!! day...my commiserations..TA, I woldn't worry too much. Not our cat used to run into our house and hide under the bed when he heard fireworks but now saunters around as if there's nothing going on now. Ruby, thank you, that tip was what prompted me to stick the manky ice in the bowl
Hope you all get some relief from the weather soon, if you haven't already and get yourselves sorted out, cool bath soaking recommended or Nelskis Spa. Stay frosty people...

Afternoon all. Well the banging next door changed to a sort of loud drilling noise which Sparkle tolerated better. I. on the other hand. was almost at screaming point as it went right through me! Aaaargh! So I got changed, donned my mask and went out to catch the little bus just to escape it for a bit. I had a wander round town and was chuffed to bits to see our Bon Marche had finally opened today! Good timing eh! So I decided to treat myself to some new jeans as their's are the only jeans to fit me properly and the 27" length perfect for my little legs. I got grey ones for a change. I was also tempted by some cropped pants but they are going back unfortunately. They seem to stick out at the side and look like a pair of jodhpurs!
And forever the last of the big spenders I had a wander round the Pound shop and picked up a few bits I needed. Then bus home again and I felt as though my little excursion had perked me up a bit. It was much more tolerable weather-wise too thank goodness. It still feels as warm indoors though as I closed all the windows when the noise started. I keep thinking they must finally be at the end of all the noisy jobs and then yet another one starts.
Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -
Afternoon everyone
I'm envious of all of you with sunshine as it's dull and dreary here. This morning DD and I and little miss of course had a trip to the nearest big charity shop and then had early lunch at Morrisons, as they have half price food all week. - only £6 for us all - ridiculous really! I had a lovely cooked breakfast. Little one came home with me and is fast asleep upstairs - she was late for her nap so took a little while to settle. I went up a little while ago to put her milk on as I need to pop down to my mams, I didn't disturb her - she's still sound. I'll gently wake her when her half an hour of milk is finished, or she'll not sleep for me tonight.
Hope everyone is having a good day - Gers I'm very envious of your dentist appointment!

Hot and humid, Chez Nous, so we have retreated to the air-conditioned (bliss) bedroom. The arbour is feeling lonely in this hunidity! Daughter had thunderstorms, spectacular, she said. She is due any time now so relieved that the air has at least cooled. She phoned to say that she is bouncing up and down on the birthing ball....... TMI We won't be able to visit for about ten days after the birth, COVID precautions, thank goodness for Facetime. We could do with the rain.8

Evening all,
Early start this morning, had a 9am appointment with the surgeon an hour away.......had x-rays done before I saw the surgeon and he has decided that I should have my operation on 20th......just one week away,.....so I am, needless to say, over the moon as the pain is getting worse by the day .
We had breakfast on the way home and only realised half way through that we were still outside our exclusion area.......nobody challenged us so we got home safely.
We have had nothing here like your temperatures in the UK........it's warm and 'muggy' but no rain or thunder........a little rain would be good for the garden but i would be afraid that if it started it would not stop..
Stay safe everybody
