solar panel removal

Hi, If I win my claim and part of the schedule of loss and damages is made up for the removal of my solar panels. Do I actually have to get them removed?

Not sure this is the best forum for your question, but if you are using one of the 'no win, no fee' groups to pursue this claim make sure you fully understand what their part of any settlement actually amounts to as you can be left with a bill to pay and no panels if the settlement involves removal and writing off the remaining debt...
Some of the outcomes of these 'settlements' seem as bad as the original mis-selling.

Most of these mis-selling claims are more to do with misrepresentation of the financial payback than about the functioning of the panels, which is where the 'gotcha' slips in on the 'no win, no fee' deals for making claims, as the percentage that the lawyers want to retain from the settlement is often based not just on a cash repayment to the home owner but also the write-down or write-off of the outstanding balance of the original loan used to pay for the panels.
Net result is the homeowner can end up owing, say 30%, of a total based on a refund and a debt reduction which can leave them still having to pay cash to the lawyers above whatever cash, if any, that is returned to them.
The claims are mostly against the finance companies as the original panel sales organisations have mostly been wound-up by now.

  • Yes we want to keep them. We paid it off after six months. Reading the solicitors letter if they accept the sum and pay they pay the fees aswell
