RAC Breakdown Advice And Next Move ?

Hi all
So today i went out to find a nice nail in my tyre but thankfully i do have RAC tyre repair or replacement on my breakdown policy but when i phone RAC up and tell them my issue i get a phone call after 6 and half hours of waiting telling me they can not make it and will put me on a priority call for tomorrow morning between 8 and 10am, the problem is i really do need to use the car tonight so am i in my right to put on the spare wheel and show them the damaged wheel tomorrow without fear of some clause forbidding me to do so and therfore they mal not help replace the punctured tyre or fix it ?

So if you can change the wheel. Why not simply do it and take the tyre with a nail in to a garage to sort?
As odds on RAC will say. Can't repair that and want to sell you a overpriced tyre.Life in the slow lane0 -
Just an update.
I had tyre cover on the car but took a chance and changed the wheel anyway and kept the one with nail in it in the boot and they just done quick inspection and sent me off to ATS for a replacement that the RAC paid for.1
