Unable to view new apartment without my current property being sold?

No it hasn't always been the case at all. When I was looking for properties in the past you could just actually go to any new development at any time when they were open, look around the showhome and ask for details of layouts, etc., and be treated in a civilised manner. ALL without being asked whether your own property was on the market or whether it had been sold. I've been asked if I had a property to sell in the past but never been told that I had to sell it first before being taken seriously.Slithery said:It's always been the case that you need to have a buyer lined up for your current property before being taken seriously. The problem is that the developer has the last word, the upper hand so to speak. If they don't want to consider you as a buyer then they don't have to.
Nothing to do with the estate agent, snooty or not (many of them are, without any justification).
Whatever they are telling you could just be an excuse. For some reason, they don't think you are a good bet and so you've been given any old story. As it is, you haven't even made any moves towards selling your flat so I suppose that goes against you.
Nothing you can do really, you can't force them to show you around. Or to sell to you. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts.
