Hi
wonder if anyone can help. Sent probate application in May proof of receipt on Royal Mail website on 20th May at Harlow. Spent hours over the passed month trying to find out where application is as not showing on the system. I am being told someone will look into it ever time I call and ring me back. No calls received and not able to deal with dads estate till I have it. Anyone got any advice feel like I am banging my head against a brick wall.
Thanks

I did because it wouldn’t let me make the payment online. The cheque hasn’t cleared.0

You do know that the application arrived which is some comfort.
It seems that there are long delays where manual processing is involved.
Perhaps contact again after 20th August?

I had a good response to my query via an email route. Message me and I'll give you the address..0

Did they need a stamped IHT421 from HMRC?That seemed to be the (minor) hold up on probate for my Dad, forms were received July 16th, The cheque cleared last Friday, a letter from HMRC arrived on Monday saying they’d sent the 421 to Probate, probate was granted yesterday.I would be ringing/emailing them daily if I’d waited since May!0

My sister died in May from Covid without leaving a Will. I sent off for Probate, cheque was
cashed and 10 weeks later I am still waiting. They won't answer emails or comment on the phone as to how it is progressing. In the meantime I have had an offer on her flat...am I able to sell it and have the funds put into her bank account, where money can be put in but not taken out?0 -
No. You won't be able to sell it until probate has been granted. Not Rachmaninov

You will need a separate bank account for the sale proceeds her account will be frozen. Ask her bank about setting up an executors account.1
