    You need to get a grip, especially if jumping into short term let’s. I presume greed got the better of you seeing a much higher return, but that also comes with much higher risks. If 1 in 100 tenants are going to trash your house, having a constant turnover of tenants is going to massively up your chances of finding one. You wait until you get a professional who refuses to move out after 5 weeks and lives there rent free for months whilst you spend a fortune on court fees to get them out. 
    It sounds to me like you are not cut out to be a landlord if getting so emotional about a few dead plants.... And Tenant wrecked garden is totally untrue, what you mean is tenant did not water my high maintenance garden.
