Fees for joint pay out?

I have received a chq of £4753 for ppi claim and am awaiting tfor them to get back to me for their fee. They have kept half of £9507 as the
original loan was in joint name with my ex wife. I filled in and signed
the claim and have contacted them to give her address but due to data
they couldnt note it. I have informed my ex and sent copy of my letter
to her informing her to get in touch with the solicitors. Will she have
to pay a fee on her £4753 as I alone signed the consent form of research not
her or will I have to pay 50% out of my share?

You'll pay the fee for the full amount.0

So out of my £4753 I have to pay £2280 and she pays nothing...That doesn't seem fair.

Typically, you would be paying the whole fee as you are the one to employ them. Your ex wife didnt employ anyone to use the free of charge complaints process. However, some CMCs will take a view as a goodwill gesture. Most wont.

You could have complained for free and received the whole amount of your share.

Unlike everyone on here I do not have the benefit of hindsight. I have managed to get through to Claims guys and my ex does not have to pay anything as she never signed anything. I am quite happy to pay (for my mistake) my agreed costs and have brownie points from my ex, which dont normally carry over after 24 hrs but happy days!

In you case you had documents from them stating how much their fees were going to be before you agreed to them and plenty of information online about how you could make the complaint yourself for free direct with the financial organisation for free. The fact that you didn't do a quick google search before commuting to pay massive fees has nothing to do with hindsight it's just you jumping into something without doing basic research first.
But anyway a good (but expensive) lesson learned for you to research decisions before making them.3 -

You did have the benefit of foresight though.
1 - you were told the fee up front
2 - you were told you could do it yourself for free.

I've had this issue in January. I was told I pay the fees for my share only and they will contact the ex themselves to give them their share. Whether they paid any fee I have no idea.1
