Buying /Selling Timeline...

All,
I agreed a property  to buy & found a buyer for mine as well. Draft contract my solicitor received from my Seller & draft contract of my house given to my buyer as well.
Its been  8 working days after my solicitor received draft & 6 days since my solicitor send draft contract to my buyer.
EA ( my Seller side) saying no enquires received (in last 8 working/week days) from my solicitor. Is it too early for me to raise this with my solicitors as he is sitting on this draft for 8 working days now.. I am keen to close this earliest. Not sure how much time typically solicitors takes from draft contract to raise enquires. I know to final contract depends upon complexity etc..How much time typically need solicitors to raise queries...?? I am keen to see TA6 & TA10 forms of my new house. When should I get this..???

Speaking as someone who's buyer's solicitors have been sitting on the draft contract pack for over 5 weeks now without raising a single enquiry, I'd say how long is a piece of string?

Have you got the searches raised / back?  Quite often it seems solicitors wait for searches to be back and the mortgage offer complete before they will start reviewing the draft contract pack.

I guess a few things to bear in mind...

    • In terms of overall timeline, is the chain complete and how long is the total chain? You mention 3 parties - are there more below and above? You can only exchange contracts when the slowest party in the chain is ready.

    • How does the EA know that no enquiries have been received from your solicitor? I wouldn't automatically believe that, although some online conveyancers now provide online portals which EAs can see. (But I've also come across EAs who make random untrue comments like that, because they think it helps.)

    • I guess there's no harm in saying to your solicitor that the seller is reporting that their solicitor has not received any pre-contract enquiries yet, so when are these likely to be sent out?
