Hi all,
im trying to figure out what my company should be paying me during my notice of redundancy.
i received a letter dated 29th July confirming that From 3rd August I was on notice of redundancy. My notice period is 3 months and the letter stated I would receive 80% pay.

The government brought out new legislation stating that notice pay should be 100% on 31st July and I’m not sure if I would qualify for this. Can anyone shed any light please?

According to this article it applies to payments from 31 July:

If your redundancy is contractual rather than statutory, your contract of employment may override these rules (unless you would get less than the statutory minimum under the new rules as a result).0 -
Thank you.
So even though they sent the letter on 29th July to advise of redundancy, as no payment has yet been made in my notice period I should receive 100% pay?
I suspect that because it is an enhanced redundancy they may reduce that if they have to pay 100%.0 -
The issue of notice pay is different to redundancy. The new law applies to statutory notice as well, but that doesn't seem to add anything to the widely accepted position that if your contractual notice period is no more than one week more than your statutory notice period, it should be paid at 100%, but if more than that, it should be what the contract of employment provides.
