in Credit cards
Hi all
i took out a £500 credit card in 2002 to try and set up my own self employed gardening buisness
The car broke, and the £500 was used to fix it,so no buisness
Since then i have been paying back interest only,it started at £10 per month, but withouth doing the maths i've paid the m back over £2,500 and just found out i owe just over £700 still on the original £500
My self employed work looks like it may be gone so im now on universal credit and phoning everyone i can to get bills lowered or get out of contracts where possible
I appreciate i took the credidet ou,but eas hoping uner the cv19 troubles they could either show some compassion in either wiping the whole debt off,or at least say just pay us £5 a month back on the original £500.
Im waiting on getting a phone call ball in the next day or so as i was offered a holiday break from the payment til things got better which i told them to stick it,not mature, but really wasnt in the right frame of mind
So far ive spent over 2 hours in total just trying to prove who i am,as i cut the card up,and have moved 3 times, maybe they are having a spate of people trying to pay others debts, who knows
sorry for the rant

Excellent news, in the circumstances that is the result I would have expected.
A debt of £500 turning into nearly 3k, under those circumstances, and over such a length of time, was obviously wrong.
