End of furlough, zero hours contract

I’ve been on furlough from my zero hours contract, all legal and calculated as the average of my wage for the 19/20 year as I started in May 2019. It’s seasonal work with absolutely no work this year.
Furlough is likely to end at the end of August as the business has no income to pay the 10% and 20%, I’ll be returned to zero hours work.
I think that’s how it’s designed to work but can’t see anything online, furlough to zero as there’s no work?
It will affect a huge number of people who may not show in unemployment figures.

Yes, there is no obligation on an employer to furlough anyone. It highlights the main issue around zero hour contracts. There was a case taken where the employee was successful in demonstrating that, despite the paperwork, he was not really on a zero hour contract as he had worked the same hours for several years. I doubt this is likely to affect you, as you have only been employed since May 2019. Nor do you have any statutory redundancy entitlement.0
