Does copy of Will submitted with IHT400 need to be certified?

...or is a plain photocopy fine?
Also:
-Is it fine to staple the IHT400 together (and accompanying schedules) or should all the documents be posted loose?
- Should the IHT400 be posted by registered post?
- I read that (during Covid) you should wait 15 days between posting IHT400+IHT421 and posting PA1P probate application (to allow time for IHT421 to be sent across). Can anyone verify this? (I don't want to delay probate unecessarily by waiting 15 days if not needed).
Thanks!
Brian

A plain photocopy is fine. Stapling the IHT400 and enclosures together ensures nothing gets lost or overlooked when the recipient opens it. Keep a copy of everything you send. Use 'signed for' (used to known as recorded) delivery so you know it's arrived.
Give the Probate Helpline a call if you need to check the current process for sending PA1P: 0300 123 1072. Seems to have been changing quite a lot in recent weeks!Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -
I posted IHT400 etc. and Probate forms off on the same day.
I used the highest level of insurance (£10k) and special delivery for the probate forms/original will and ordinary SD for the IHT forms.
My cheque was finally cashed the same day I had an acknowledgement email, after 3 weeks - I assume it took a couple of weeks for hmrc to send them the stamped iht421.Just a waiting game now.0
