Hotel.com Tesco token refund Issue

Hi,
Has anyone else had conflicting advice with regards to the situation about being able to get a refund or transfer of the value of their Tesco vouchers used against a hotel booked with Hotels.com?
I have had my flights cancelled so need to change my hotel booking as we've decided to move it back to next May (we were due to go in October). I paid £480 of my holiday booking with Tesco vouchers and Tesco has said that Hotels.com will reimburse with a voucher to the value if I change the date of my booking but I won't receive the voucher (to use against a future purchase) until a month after I've checked out of the hotel for the booking I made.
Hotels.com said different when I initially contacted them on the "chat" agent window (before I spoke to Tesco) and said I would lose the value completely. I therefore went back to the chat agent on Hotels.com and she said as my hotel had cancellation I would get a full refund if I cancelled, including the voucher back so that I could re-use the voucher against the re-book or change the date and transfer to another date and if it was cheaper I would get a refund for any cash element paid and the value of the voucher back to use again another time.
I asked both Tesco and Hotels.com to provide me with a link or written info of this advice on their website as I couldn't find it and both said they could not. I'm at a loss what to do so I don't lose the value of my voucher as I want to go but just need to change the date. Obviously if I can get a refund and the value of the token that would be the best option as I can re-use the voucher straight away on the re-book rather than have it for a future date use, however, I don't feel re-assured I will get the voucher back as the agent would not send me the information or direct me to where I can find it to read myself and when I've looked at Tesco website on the Hotels.com page the reviews are very bad regarding experience of being promised a voucher refund.

https://uk.hotels.com/page/tesco/ says the voucher cannot normally be exchanged or refunded. But due to Covid it seems they are refunding according to the statement at the top.
