    If you have no idea how to use bitcoin, then I'd recommend steering completely clear of it - in my experience anything that needs it is either illegal or a scam. To answer your question though - a "wallet" is where you store your coins and basically refers to software/hardware you use to access them. I'd recommend reading up before even contemplating buying any - plenty of resources out there just a quick Google search away.
