Halifax Playing for Time!

Has anyone tried to get a chargeback on their credit card from Halifax? I applied for one at the end of May, due to my flight being cancelled and my travel agent being typically unhelpful. Was told it would take upto 45 days due to Covid19, so after 60 days I chased them up as they appeared to have done nothing, and surprise surprise, an email asking for a copy of the invoice suddenly arrives! Now they have asked me to wait until the end of August before I get a reply, and if I am not happy with that, I can always complain to the financial ombudsman! Seems like they are merely passing the buck!

And remember that it can always be reversed up to 45 days after the credit is received.
PS: the refund comes from the retailer, not the card provider, so there's no financial motive for Halifax to 'play for time'.No free lunch, and no free laptop

With reference to my original complaint about the Halifax, I am pleased to report that the Halifax did recredit my account with the amount of the chargeback and, as the 45 days have now elapsed, the travel agent will be unable to claw it back!
No free laptop, but I did get £80 for the delay!0
