How will unheated run down semi door affect quality of my side of party wall.?

Keeping it short. The owner next door on the other side of my party wall, joining me to next door, moved out last year and is unlikely to move back in. HIs side is in bad shape, neglected and damp. I also had to move out temporarily over the winter due to health issues and my side of the party wall got damp too. In one place a water pipe burst next door and leaked through to my side. We got it fixed on the insurance and my side dried out but next door remains in otherwise unchanged condition.
As a result of the leak , my wall had salts leaching from the brickwork through onto the plaster in places. We have dried it all out and I can now get my side of the party wall redecorated. This is fine now that the weather is good but what happens come November when it is wet and cold and next door remains damp and unheated? Will my newly decorated wall risk getting damp and spoilt by an empty run down house next door.? The various professionals and tradesmen involved in working on mine all seem to have differing opinions about this.

A cold wall will be prone to condensation which will make the wall damp - The salts will also attract moisture.A damp wall will suck up heat and lead to further condensation. Without any heating on the other side of the party wall, all you can do is run a dehumidifier and keep the rooms well heated during the winter month. By the sounds of it, your neighbour won't be returning, so the house may well be up for sale before too long. Once sold (and occupied), any damp issues should clear up.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
