Another couple of points, beware of cyclists snatching mobile phone around Euston/Tottenham court road ( it used to happen regularly). Supermarket wise, Top of Tottenham Court Road ( by Warren st) there is a Lidl and Tesco and various Fast Food outlets.
After the Museum’s if the weather is poor, another option would be Harrods for some window shopping as it only a 15 min walk from the Natural History Museum.
Just to Add, despite the warnings London is very safe City for Tourists, and lovely with the less numbers.

MadHoneyBadger said:River cruise is definitely something we are considering now, lots of people are recommending them.As well as looking into a single cruise, if you have time think about the day long 'river roamer' tickets on the Thames Clipper commuter boats.Unfortunately not as good value now the 2-4-1 discounts aren't running but IMO worth it compared with a one off trip if you can spare the time. Get on by the London Eye/Embankment and travel all the way down to the O2 (or even further through the Thames Barrier to Woolwich Arsenal in the evenings). The staff will usually let you stay on and travel up and down as much as you want (handy if the weather's bad) and you can get coffee and snacks onboard (although cheaper to bring your own). A return trip takes about two and a half hours I think. The boats are comfy and you get really good views - sights you can see include (from memory) The Houses of Parliament, The London Eye, St Pauls, Tate Modern, the Cutty Sark, the Golden Hind replica, The Monument, Tower of London, Tower Bridge, Greenwich, The Shard, Canary Wharf, O2 Dome. There's also a separate clipper service that runs from Tate Modern to Tate Britain which the roamer ticket also gives free access to.Probably not practical in August, but it's also worth doing the trip at night when it can be surprisingly dark (and watch out for the Meridian laser at Greenwich).Proviso - the above info is based on trips we've done a few years ago now, and I see from the above link that the boats aren't currently running to a full timetable, so please double check if what I've said stil lapplies.0

Camden is brilliant, you are bombarded with free tasting streetfood.
I really didnt need anything to eat for hours.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Just be aware that museums are doing entry by pre-booked (free) tickets only in order to limit numbers and opening hours may be reduced.

I would never pay for hotel breakfast on a visit to London. There are so many good quality places to buy food it's not necessary.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0 -
Watch out in Camden Market although good fun it is a prime area for pick pockets just keep mobiles/wallets close and not in back pockets!! don't worry just be aware!0

No point in buying Oyster cards for an adult. Just use your contactless debit or credit card. Same daily capping applies. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
