Help with Renegotiate and Interpreting the Survey Report

Hi  I have just agreed to buy a property in central Reading and this sentence caught my eye in the survey can someone please tell me does this mean property is prone to Subsidence -There is tapered cracking on the construction join and side of the extension,
consistent with slight rotational structural movement of the extension. I have since done a drain pipe review and the drains are in perfect condition .
Also if this is not a serious threat what range of discount can I ask .FYI the property is agreed to sell around 700k and I was thinking of 10 k discount as there are issues with decking and roofing etc.

Any advise is welcome as I am FTB. Thanks

What did the survey value it as?
  • A fair purchase on the market David Thanks. Here are more details -There is tapered cracking on the construction join and side of the extension,
consistent with slight rotational structural movement of the extension. I recommend
a CCTV investigation is carried out to assess the condition of the underground
drainage in close proximity, as the sand-based subsoils beneath the property are
prone to structural movement due to defects on drainage. The medium size tree in
close proximity to the garage is situated in an elevated position and is unlikely to
be the main cause of the movement identified on the extension.
I have done the CCTV for drains and there were no problems.

Quite probably just a bit of initial settlement when the extension was first built, and nothing much to worry about.

If the survey agreed with the accepted offer, then there's not much negotiation to do. Either accept this issue, or walk.
