Apologies if my comment upset you, it wasn't my intention. 
I just felt bad for your gran as your information tells us that her work was known about as well as her earlier attempt to track down possible money owed but nobody helped her (again only going on the info above). Now she's past away, someone is trying to get to the bottom of it which will benefit someone else, certainly not gran. 

Again though, take my thought with a pinch of salt as you and your mum know the truth which is all that matters. Silvertabby above has far more relevent information than me.

I do wonder what your intention of your reply was then.  Even for a long term reader of these forums , and allowing for different personal styles of posting I thought it was particularly short and unhelpful - rude even.  Even if OP was a bit light on information

 And you are entitled to your interpretation of my post as I am entitled to interpret the OPs post. 
I have and do apologise if it upset the OP but from the info provided I stand by my opinion.
