Car insurance & FCO advice

I have "Foreign Use" as an additional cover on my car insurance from Aviva as I sometimes drive to France. I'm wondering about the consequences of France being taken off the FCO list of countries exempt from their advice against "all but essential travel" (aka France potentially being added to the "quarantine list" as the media is reporting, even though there is no such list - every country is on "quarantine list" unless it's on the FCO's list of exempt countries...).
My travel insurance is clear in stating in the policy documents that cover does not apply if I travel to a country which the FCO has advised against "all travel" or "all but essential travel". However, there is no reference to the FCO at all in my car insurance policy documents. So I'm wondering whether I would still be covered to drive in France even if the FCO had advised against "all but essential" travel, as seems likely in the coming weeks.. And what if that happens while I'm already in France?
Couldn't find any information on insurance websites, the gov / FCO websites, nothing on MSE... What do you think?

Car insurance doesn't differentiate between types of travel. You're not driving into war zone, just the place where leisure travel might be not advised. It doesn't mean you can't go.

I have the same question. No info to be found. Have you found out anything more since posting?0

If there's no info about FCO travel advice in car insurance policy, it means it's not related.0

I contacted Aviva and they confirmed that I would be covered under my current car insurance policy, regardless of FCO advice.
We've now decided not to go anyway, but still useful info to know for the future. I recommend contacting your car insurance provider to be safe, but I would assume that if there's no reference to the FCO in your policy documents then you should be ok (as mentioned by Penelopa.Pitstop)1 -
I have been involved in an accident and it is likely that the third party does not accept liability. I reported the case to my insurance. There is body work damage to the car, with the possibility of my car being written off. Can I withdraw my insurance claim and have my car mended in a workshop? What would be the implications for this with regard to my insurance? Thanks!0

Why would you ask this in the COVID-19 forum about cover abroad during a pandemic?
Post this in the Insurance or Motoring sections, you'll get an answer there
