Morning all, it's cloudy here. Again we have that wind, mind you we were very glad of it yesterday while working in the garden, 'twas very hot even in the shade.Took us 2hrs to take the large tree branch down, 15mins cutting and the rest trying to get the cutter out of the tree as it had become wedged. Cue me on the ropes pulling this way and that, then swapping places with himself, it seems the chuckle bros are now resident here
I'm glad it's down though as it makes a lot of difference to the light in a corner of the garden. I also mowed the front lawn and dug up my potatoes. I'm chuffed as I collected just over 10lbs !! Not bad for planting 7 wrinkly sm potatoes. Unfortunately sleep evaded me last night, it's far too hot even with the windows open and the fan on. Add to that my sinuses are playing me up, probably from some tree dust and grass cuttings. I did notice while playing arbourists that the hazel trees are laden with nuts, so it maybe a bumper crop this year for the squirrels
It may be an early autumn this year too
Today DD is coming back to finish painting off the small fence, so it will be 3 for lunch, or maybe 4 or 5 if the DGC tag along as well. I know DGS wants to come, especially if there's a roast dinner in the offing, he can sniff one of those out at 500ydsWe will have pork steaks ( I'll do some chicken portions too in case DGD arrives ) with home grown pots, roasties, peas, broccoli, cauli cheese and gravy. Oh and some fresh mint sauce, the plant has doubled in size since I split it for DD, so I'm picking it like mad, but I'll have to resort to freezing most of the leaves as I can't use it up quick enough. There is fruit cocktail in jelly with ice cream or strawberry cheesecake for pud.
Right enough waffling better start prepping ready for lunch.Take care all, stay safe and well. Chin up lovelies, things have got to get better one day, haven't they ? Hugs all round xxnan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently10 -
Nannywindow, removing branches really makes a difference. When our neighbour removed his conifers it opened up the bottom of the garden. So much so that the Arbour Chez Nous is open for business if you all care to pop in. Coffee at eleven and tea at four seems to be the ideal.I am making bonding squares for my daughter, due her first babe in two weeks. I make them for the local maternity unit and putting the square under the baby's head in the cot settles them quickly. Also useful for mopping up little dribbles.Opened the windows this morning so have a through draught.Keep well and hugs for those in need.11

Hello everyone
Enjoyed a lovely afternoon out in the garden yesterday - I did some weeding and then was very lazy and caught up on Sunday Times magazines - really enjoyed it. Took little grand daughter down to my mam and dads this morning and she is now fast asleep. Might take her out for a walk later and we'll have a play in the garden Had a nice chat with eldest DD in Stockholm yesterday - she has beautiful hot weather again and had spent the day at a beach. I would never have imagined that Sweden had hot summers - I think they must have kept it a secret from the rest of the world!10 -
AFternoon all. The sleep stick bypassed me last night, I was awake and asleep like a yoyo..change pillow side, change pillow, switch fan on, move pillow, switch fan off etc. Early night for me tonight then....They phoned me yesterday from the hospital, could I come in ealrier please, no bother I said, I'll be there at half eleven. This means I'll go and garden visit a friend this afternoon for a catch up, plus I ordered some Quinta D'avo peri peri sauce from the internet and it arrived, so I'll give her one of those too. They both love spicy stuff...And it is really nice on chicken wings , not that I have any currently, but online shopping a go go will happen tonight I think. Not much to get really, I'm practically fully stocked, it's only things like toilet paper, and fresh veg, peppers mainly for the ubiquitous fajitas..CBA to cook last night, so we pizza takewayed, love their pizzas, cooked in wood oven and only round the corner, although we have them delivered, so they're practically bubbling out of the oven. Had the left over slices for breakfast as you do.It was grey and cloudy this morning, although quite warm, but the clouds have burned off now and it's sunny. Cue me taking to the shade although I might garden clothe myself up later and do a little more digging. So that's my day sorted.Nanny, well done for lumberjacking! Gers, I was loving the C is for...things, looks like my kind of shop
Hey all reading along, have a good one, Sumptuous Sunday....

Evening all,
It's been a really nice day here, we had a visit from DD3 and family this morning, including their eight week old collie puppy, who took a great liking to Mossie.......Mossie practically ignored him. DGD7 was not impressed when I referred to him as her little brother.." he's a doggie Maimeo!" so that was me put in my place......he rejoices in the name of Chase, from some TV programme she watches!
AOD.....your pansies will be lovely.....they reseed all over the place again and again.....I have a planter near the front door that is full of reseeded pansies, violas, nasturtiums and wallflowers......the wallflowers I originally sowed as seed about 10 years ago.
We are in lockdown again for at least two weeks due to a spike in Covid19 cases.....just 3 counties, Kildare, Laois and Offaly, hopefully it will not last longer.
Please everybody stay safe.....we have to defeat this enemy!
