Does EHIC card still apply in countries where the FCO has advised against travel?

We are due to travel to Spain which now has an FCO travel advisory against it. Wondering if the FCO warning has any bearing on whether our EHIC card will still be accepted out there?

EHIC only covers basic health care free or at a reduced rate. It doesn't cover the cost of accommodation for either you or whoever is ill which could be lengthly and expensive and where many people come undone. Neither does it cover the cost of return flights or return flights if one of you is in need of medical treatment when flying and taken to a uk hospital. And as Butts says, repatriation in any of it's forms.
