Hello all, another here who didn't sleep. Yesterday turned out to be not as hot as expected, only 24 degrees and a bit overcast too, however the sun is already out today and it is quite windy.Today's delights will be to mow the front lawn and later help to take down an overhanging tree branch in the back garden, if I can get myself motivated. Bet I'll be anchor man on the ropes again ! To be fair I can't wield the tree cutter safely as it's twice as tall as me, very heavy and the branch is quite thick, so will take probably more effort than I'm able to supply. There is also a rosemary plant in need of re-potting and some more weeds have appeared overnight. Grrr! That rain we had seems to have made everything shoot up and out.I even forgot to take something out for tea..... again, so it will be a freezer dip later, but now I fancy Nels fish platterRight I'd better get my gardening rags on and make a start or nothing will get done. See you all at the spa !Take care all, stay safe and keep well.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11

It's a beautiful day so far. I've been out for the weekly shop, made DM her scrambled egg, put away the shopping, unwrapped the new cereal bowls (to find one broken), had my own breakfast and now about to unload the lovely DW. I've emailed M&S, tried the webchat but after clicking the 'chat now' button nothing happens.Once DM's friend is here I may head out to visit someone - not sure who yet.TA - I'm so sorry about your situation. You're quite right, it's not sitting in gardens that has caused this, it's going out to beaches, clubs and pubs etc. In Aberdeen there's a real problem because eight footballers went out together to a pub when they weren't supposed to. City on lockdown and cases rising. Nicola Sturgeon is doing her nut about it, had a real go at the players during her TV briefing yesterday.😘9

Morning all,
Lovely day so far.........all four small granddaughters are here......3 had been here for a sleepover and DGD7 arrived with her parents to introduce us to Chase, their newly acquired collie puppy, who is right weeks old........Mossie accepted him as being entitled to be here, we will see how that works!
Hugs to all in need or want of one.
We are in lockdown once again as there has been a spike in cases in Kildare (us) Laois and Offaly. People are complaining but there is really no alternative if we are to beat this deadly virus......I know that we are lucky in that being retired our income is not affected..
Stay safe everybody

Back from holiday.. which was excellent. Sat in the arrbour Chez Nous, drinking coffee to the sound of next door watering his garden and the fence between us. The sound of a shower without getting wet!Looked for Jack. The beans had grown so tall and even along the washing line whilst we were away so I assumed Jack had climbed the beanstalk. The fountain was low on water so when refilled the birds were lining up in the nearby hedge to get a fill after visiting the bird feeder, now replenished.Met up with with both daughters and son in law, brother in law and his son and family with a fish and chip supper on the cliff top nearby, in separate family groups. The two young girls were effective gull scarers!Slept well as we have a portable air conditioner. The house was relatively cool as the insulation on the house is pretty effective. Younger daughter is due her first baby in two weeks so she is suffering in the heat and madly doing housework! Nesting comes to mind. For those on their own, our best wishes are with you. Breathe deep and slow and vent all the hot air to those who deserve your wrath. Then smile.Fellow OS peeps will bring back some friendliness, this board is lovely.8
