Seventh Anniversary Combo Breaker
edited 19 May at 3:51PM in Coronavirus Board
Have a weekend booking for a stay at the St Davids hotel in September this year but as the Coronavirus is still around and due a 2nd wave, we do not want to risk going away for the weekend, it is supposed to be to celebrate anniversary. I have contacted the hotel and explained the situation and they have offered a rebook upto 31st July 2021 only. I have stated we only want to stay in September as our anniversary but they wont extend a rebooking to then.
As we booked the stay via the 2019 Xmas promo they also wont offer a refund or cancel the booking, and will charge us full price if we dont turn up or rebook upto July 2021.
Where do we stand as no need for a room we dont feel safe staying in and being offered dates that also arent suitable

If you have a non-refundable rate and the hotel is open then a rebook as a gesture is probably as good as it gets. Travel insurance unlikely to cover disinclination to travel and no claim from credit card as hotel is available

If you reserved a room on a non cancellation deal then it's up to the goodwill of the hotel. If you were to hold on to the booking and the government put the area in lockdown you would have better chance of getting your money back.

Up to July 2021 seems more than reasonable.
  • You’ve booked a non-refundable promo rate.

They are being generous in allowing you to move the date to a date within the next 12 months.
