Double credit card application

Can anyone please advise? I applied for a credit card and as I clicked complete application the full website crashed and I didn’t receive any confirmation email or anything so I thought it must not have gone through. So I went back on to try again, but I have just been told the first one actually went through and was approved, but I was declined for the second application. Will this affect my credit rating? Is there anything I can do?

Not normally, companies realise that there are multiple reasons why others may do more than one check in quick succession and so will consider it only as one.... its possible their system is sophisticated enough to not even go to the CRA a second time if they're holding the data on file from only minutes/hours before.
