Annual Holiday insurance..HELP!

Hello I took out Annual holiday insurance last year (2019) before the pandemic. 

I booked a holiday to Spain this year, yes I was aware of the pandemic, however Spain was on the Safe destinations when I booked. (Now it is not) 

I booked with love holidays, I am flying with Ryanair and they are still flying, however my hotel has closed. (Confirmed by the hotel directly, had nothing from Love Holidays) My annual insurance I took out before the pandemic Expires the day before I am due to fly. If I auto renew I will be taking out the policy When I am swear of the pandemic. My question is am I still covered with the insurance I took out last year even if the date I’m supposed to fly out is the day after the cover ends? 
(I can’t just change my flight as Ryanair want £350 to change the flight to next year)

Hi Heather - welcome to the forum. It’s difficult to say, but you might not be covered under your old policy, depending on when you booked your holiday. Mine says anything booked after 13th March will not be covered for Coronavirus related issues. You certainly won’t be covered for anything if your insurance expires and you don’t renew before you go.
