Rather than spend your inheritance on a MH why not hire one for a few weeks. Try it out for size, utility, driving and if you even like the experience of having one. Not forgetting key questions such as where will you put it when its not being used? If you still work this will have a huge impact on frequency of use. In my part of the world I regulary see about a dozen parked on peoples drives that never seem to move. I personally would love one but know that in the cold light of day it would rarely move (I still work full time).
  • I echo the above. I've had six motorhomes/camper vans since 1989, but it is only since I retired that I've been able to use them sensibly. When you're working full time, ownership is a bit of an indulgence. Hiring is OK, but if you have a dog you're unlikely to be allowed to take it with you.
  • The best way is by personal recommendation or through the Club's Preferred Dealer scheme. In reality bad dealers don't last very long. Most dealers sell both new and second-hand motorhomes but in today's hard economic climate some dealers are only selling pre-owned motor caravans.
