Solar lights

Can anyone tell me the best solar lights to be placed on sleepers?
I’ve recently had my garden completed and I don’t think I can have mains powered lights outside without all of wires on show, which I don’t want.

In my experience they are a bit hit and miss - we have had cheap ones that have lasted well and expensive ones that only lasted a couple of years (yes we did put new batteries in - they were proper dead).
From that we decided to only buy cheap ones then if they die it is no great loss.

You can potentially extend the life by applying a sealant around the edges of the solar panel to stop water penetration.

I've had the same experience as Paula. The solar panels on the cheapish ones have improved a lot but it is trial and error.
If you have a hardware shop nearby that sells them or know someone who uses solars it could be worth asking what they'd recommend. Looking for a solar fence light the more expensive one was recommended. For fairy lights the cheaper ones are just great.
I wouldn't go for the wildly expensive ones unless the cost doesn't matter or they are the very ones that will complete you plot.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

  • I'm also could not find suitable ones for a long time, but then they took cheap ones and they served for almost 2 years. It's still strange for me, I always thought that if a thing is more expensive, then it is of better quality but not in this case

A garden centre near me has a company called gardens to glow and the do uniled Which is a low voltage system we have 4 lights and it fab expensive but worth it. Hiding the small cables is much easier plus they are plug and play with extendable options from one single power source

this is outs in the dark the pond and the palms are lit by uniled tho there’s are just bottle lights

I purchased GardenBliss and a couple of Homeimpro solar-powered lights. it is economical and very possible now. I was looking for suitable models for a long time, but by a lucky coincidence, I found both in this article.
