If you have agreed to a reduction in salary to 80% of your previous wage, whether you are on furlough or otherwise, yes she can. If you only agreed to the reduction whilst you are on furlough, no she can't. Look at your contract of employment and your furlough agreement to see what you signed up to.
  • Reed agency will not pay towards the furlough therefore I’m not receiving any payments at all. How can they get away with that? Why can’t the government enforce them to do it or the government should pay us the 80% if the company refuse to. Can Martin and his team put pressure on the government to pay us?
  •  Yup and we can lose our homes, our minds, our jobs, no more furlough payments cos Reed agency doesn’t want to contribute 10 or 20% towards the payments but that’s ok ... 😡

Please make the government pay us our furlough payments which Reed agency won’t pay now because they don’t want to contribute towards it.

Misty - the furlough scheme was not designed to be an indefinite hand out scheme. Is there no longer a job for you?

In saying "Reed Agency don't want to contribute to furlough", is that the full story?

I think this is probably a case of financial necessity that an agency, by the very nature of how the business operates, cannot sustainability contribute to furlough without putting the whole business at risk.

Unless you are working in an active assignment, the simply doesn't have any income to use to fund your furlough.  Obviously, if you are in an active assignment, there is no furlough to be funded.
