Really? I have seen a lot of people on this forum to complete on a Friday.

It is also the day of the week our solicitor works on completions.

  • We are due to complete next Friday. I was at bit wary, having heard it wasn’t a good idea with it being the last working day of the week- but my solicitor said it was fine and no different to any other day. Hope everything goes smoothly for you today.

I certainly don't envy anyone doing any heavy lifting of furniture today. I'm melting already and I've only done the vacuuming!!

Good luck to everyone due to complete today. Hope you all have a smooth process.

Because many are exchanging and completing on the same day. And even if they're not, if something goes wrong on a Friday, you're in limbo until the Monday rather than the following day.

spoke to a removals man to get a quote recently, he said that everyone had been trying to move on July 31st - not only was it a Friday and most completions are Friday but seemed some mortgage offers were running out.  Can give us a discount for moving midweek.

We ended up moving on a Thursday but that was only because the Friday was Good Friday (2019). The developer we bought from usually only did completions on a Friday.
