I''ve recently had an Iceland home delivery and the experience was very good with only 1 item unavailable. Free delivery over £40 and a £5 discount for me. I know you cant do your whole shop with them but you should be able to get most of it and the prices are OK.
All my Iceland deliveries have been problem free, maybe luck as I'm not regular monthly shopper
Min order for free delivery is £35 BTW, not £40

  • When I started isolating I began using Iceland as it was easier getting a delivery from them than anywhere else. I was always pleased with their service but limited with choice. Then deliveries from Tesco became easier so I alternate between the two now, ordering from Tesco what I can't get from Iceland. I was very disappointed with Sainsbury's as I have been a regular shopper between them and Aldi for years. But no way could I get registered with them for deliveries. No customer loyalty from them at all. Once I resume shopping in store again I won't be shopping in Sainsbury's they have lost a disgruntled customer!

Really will depend upon - how far you are from store or online warehouse. - how much prepared to pay for slots. - are you willing to click n collect? Some slots free subject min spend Asda/Sainsbury
Had all 3 Asda/Sainsbury/Tesco deliver over time. All 3 click n collect too.
Good & bad experiences all 3.

Suggest try them all then see what you like! Really does depend upon items you order too.

I declare an interest in that I own shares in Ocado------but the shares were bought long after we started using Ocado, which were so good in every way that we decided we wanted to join in their inevitable success.
The wide Ocado range, the politeness of drivers, the correct delivery times adhered to, usually receiving exactly what you ordered------and now the joint venture to sell great M&S food : they all lead me and my family to shop exclusively twice a week at Ocado.

I found that Iceland was the only online delivery I could get up to a few weeks ago. There were no problems, no substitutions but a limited range. I then had a Sainsburys one which was really good and included the 25% of wine offers. I was due to have my first delivery from Asda yesterday, but had a phone call at 2PM informing me that the lorry had broken down, so I could pick up the order (from  an Asda ten miles away) or have it cancelled. I went to pick it up and was firstly informed it wouldn't be ready for two hours (despite me arriving at the agreed time), then was told it hadn't been picked yet, then told ten minutes later that they had made a mistake and it was ready after all. Not impressed.

Had Sainsbury, Asda, Tesco and Morrisons.
Preference has to be Tesco, Morrison, Sainsbury then Asda.....not able to get slot on day choice with Waitrose anymore.
Yes there is the charge with Tesco but at least I can say just what I want unlike the others who just give you what they want or you opt out(best option if you don't want marmalade when you asked for blackcurrant jam !!).
At the moment I do Tesco home delivery and a Sainsbury click and collect every other week.  Although Sainsbury only have 4 spaces now and when you are waiting for a couple of folk who decide to actually check and re pack while others are waiting for a space it can take quite a while.
There does seem to be more slots opening up - but Sainsbury still never have many

JamesN said  - Morrison’s don’t deliver to me but a van drove past my house. Makes no sense.

That used to happen here for the first few years. Tesco delivered to G82 and G83 but not G84.  But from parts of G83 to get to G82 they used to go through G84 and I used to see their vans whizzing past on the main road 100 yards from my house.

Thanks all. Great advice. My preference is Ocado but want to wait for a discount code so that I get a year free on it. Hoping I may find an old one knocking about as you used to get them in packages you had delivered. Imagine they had long dates before expiry.

I just gave prime now a go who do Morrison’s. Was a bit odd. Very low budget for amazon. Was expecting a chilled van like most. But just had a guy turn up in a car. Nothing was in keep cool bags or anything to make up for not having a chilled van. Might use them for a bit until I find an Ocado code. Might try Iceland and Tesco too.

I had Ocado since 2012 until the lockdown, when despite being an Anytime SmartPass customer, I could only get one slot. Ocado isn't accepting new customers yet, AFAIK. Also, don't forget that Waitrose products won't be available from 1st September. Marks & Spencer food is often more expensive than organic.

Waitrose does free delivery but £60 minimum order. It's worth paying more to get decent organic stuff, but if you just want bog standard things eg PG Tips then there are cheaper places.

Iceland is doing £25 minimum order with £2 delivery charge or free delivery over £35. I used to use it at least once a month since 2012, buying all my wild fish there and things like Barton's Piccalilli. Also really good for chocolate boxes and Easter eggs. Their fish is pretty much all Produced and Packaged in China now and I really don't want dodgy Chinese fish.

Morrisons has a lot of silly maximum quantity items eg 1 organic cucumber, 2 tins of organic tomatoes which is annoying. Daft, when some Morrisons groceries can be bought much cheaper by the case on Amazon. I have a delivery pass, but I'm getting cheesed off with substitutions which aren't notified. £25 minimum is good for top ups though.

We used to go to our local Sainsbury's. I just use it for the occasional stock up on cheese, organic teabags. Not many subs. No bags is annoying.

ASDA used to have a delivery pass with them. No subs usually. Great organic veg. Decent range of stuff. Might go back to them.

Amazon Pantry is defunct but Amazon Fresh will be rolled out for Prime members. Not here yet. I love Amazon.
