Graig Fatha members ‘blown away’ by high summer savings
Wow. What a month it has been for our Graig Fatha members. July has been the second best month yet for electricity generation, with a total generation of 708MWh, saving over a whopping 150,000kg of CO2 emissions. That's quite something! It might even make up for the oddly-still March (see chart in the blog).

I am new to this RIPPLE. they say that they are an legitimate company, can anyone vouch for them? The starting cost for me is rather high I use about 5,500Kw per annum and even if one joins the system I suppose that we will still have the standing charge and possibly management fees rising; as prices do. Or am i just being negative boys and Girlies.0

If you’re not happy don’t do it. We did. £1900 invested 18 months in and over 600 back already. Prices fluctuate every year. You may make a profit at some time but that isn’t the only reason we invested.5

Just reviewing this post from mid-July:dharm999 said:Basically, there have been extra costs ... so they are now borrowing more than previously planned ... As there is now £4m more debt than planned, this will take longer to pay back than originally planned - I cant see a likely situation where the underlying financials are so much better that the debt gets paid back quicker than originally planned. Therefore I am assuming that the overall return to shareholders is now going to be lower because of the extra debt, as the debt will take longer to pay back than originally planned. The flip side (which you might have overlooked) is that electricity prices have risen substantially since the Kirk Hill prospectus was issued. The prospectus assumed wholesale electricity prices around £65 per MWh (as the government projections of the time suggested) with operational costs of £20 per MWH, for a operational profit of £45/MWh.However, from the numbers at Nordpool the price hasn't been below £70 (as a monthly average) yet this year. Wholesale prices could remain in the £70-£100 region for some time to come, which would suggest an operational profit of £50-£80 per MWh. Substantially more than forecast.Kirk Hill is forecast to generate about 60GWh/yr. Taking the mid-point of the hypothetical profit, £65 per MWh would suggest additional unforecast earnings of £20 per MWh or £1.2M per year.(I think I was on holiday when this was originally posted!)N. Too high risk for me. I’d rather invest in a renewable energy investment trust where my investment is spread across dozens of different solar, wind and other renewables sites. I also won’t have a tax problem, I’m not restricted as to which energy company I can use and I can sell my investment at any time.
I think too many people are investing in Ripple without really understanding the risks and long term implications.0 -
