Pea Gravel advise

Hi,
We recently had the front garden dug out and replaced with pea gravel as a im on a tight budget and needed off road parking for two cars. There is MOT (compacted) and the weed membrane underneath.
Its been down a week, but I'm already thinking it was a mistake. Whilst it looks fantastic, there are a couple of issues:
1.when we drive on it we get mounds to the sides of the wheels 2.it's almost difficult to drive on
3.it's really really difficult to walk on - its a bit like walking on ice.
The gravel stones vary in size but are between 20mm and 40mm.
My father in law has a gravel drive(which is why I thought it would be a good idea) although I think his is cotswold, but there are non of these issues with the stability.
Is there a way I can stabilise them? From Google searches I've seen resin type solutions and also the grids, but they don't seem suitable for stones larger than 20mm - Please can someone advise or has anyone had a similar issue and found a solution (other than getting rid) - will it settle and compact over time?
Thanks

Pea gravel isn't good for a drive as it moves about a lot, you need various sizes and various shapes to tie together. That website explains better than I can. Look for self binding gravel.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0 -
Neighbour recently put gravel down - She used a gravel grid before putting the gravel down. Appears to work quite well with her dinky little car.As EssexExile says, pea gravel isn't really suitable, even with a grid - Shoveling out several tonnes of the stuff isn't going to be fun, and trying to fix the problem with resin or cement is just going to be a short term bodge.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Small stuff isn't good in respect of cats either. Our landscaper put down a layer of pea shingle and ours and our neighbour's cats were doing their business in it. So much for low maintenance! Had to get them to put a larger size down on top which put the cats off.Make £2026 in 2026

You need something like this, with 20mm irregular gravel as an infill (not pebbles)
Ground sheet from the same people.
Our neighbour is a property developer and made the same mistake as you.
Her drive is now severely rutted due to shifting aggregate.
