Available work and redundancy

Options
Hi there
I hope someone can help
I am currently serving out my redundancy notice period while on furlough. I was notified late July and because I have a lot of service my end date is late September. I will get statutory redundancy pay and my annual leave that has accrued since the beginning of April when I went on furlough
I work for a training provider in the South West and my role was to hold Information, Advice and Guidance sessions for apprentices and jobseekers. There was only one other person there that did them and then only occasionally, for example when I was elsewhere, however he has been made redundant like me. That pretty much was my whole job and it took up 4 out of 5 days ( the other day was Admin catch up day). As far as I know there is only one other person who is qualified to do them and they are still there. There have been no sessions held since April, however now they have started re advertising them but only 2 days a week rather than 4. Now obviously the work is still there  but I am still being made redundant. I don't mind going part time but no one has said anything, basically it seems that they have taken my job and given it to someone else
Does this strike anyone as an unfair redundancy situation? What could I do about it?
Thanks in advance for your help

Your job included 4 days of holding sessions. This is no longer required so the role is redundant. 2 days of holding sessions is a new role. Why don't you ask to be considered for the new role?
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales
  • Fair point but in the letter they sent they said they would continue to look for other roles for me, this is my role, just with the hours cut down which is something I don't mind. Really undecided whether to take the money and run or cause a fuss. Not something that anyone but myself can decide
