Do I pay ?
i have parked on some waste land for years , on occasion when I go to certain shops and have just recieved a fine for parking on the same site. It states that it’s for parking on private land. I’m going to check that there was clear signage , and the chances are that there was and I have just never noticed . Do I pay or ignore? It’s from CPP and the letter states that they are
part of the BPA .
thanks

Car Parking Partnership?
CP Plus?Do I pay or ignore?Neither is recommended here. Have you read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, first post, which will help you decide how you deal with the charge. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Chances are there wasn't! There may be signage but if you critique it in the light of the standards it should meet it will doubtless be lacking.tongey said:I’m going to check that there was clear signage , and the chances are that there was
While checking out the Newbies' thread, scroll right down to the section on Second Stage Appeals, POPLA & IAS. Then look for a link to a POPLA signage section. I found that helped me look at signage more critically.2 -

Whether you pay or not is up to you, but acquaint yourself with the facts first. Read the newbies, other similar fora, and use a search engine.
Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs, and in some cases, cancellation.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up later this year,
Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these companies, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.
