Vueling

Love holidays cancelled my flight to Barcelona but vueling didn’t cancel flight so I was told I’d only get voucher. I said I’m a non essential traveller and as Barcelona was on lockdown and I would have no where to stay. I asked if they would like me to spend 5 days at the airport and the reply was if that’s all that available!! It’s a disgusting Service. None essential travellers have been penalised why working travellers have not - we have been totally screwed . Any suggestions on how to take this further please I cannot afford to lose £400 and refuse a voucher as after there poor customer service I would never entertain flying with them I’d rather then have voucher

Was this a flight only booking or did it include a hotel?
If it’s flight only, the rest is irrelevant unfortunately - as the flight wasn’t cancelled you’re not entitled to a refund regardless of the reason of travel.

If a hotel snd flight were booked together, that changes things.

Do you mean 'LH cancelled my accommodation in Barcelona'? And you booked the flight direct with Vueling?
If so, Vueling are not at fault or liable: they contracted to fly you there, not provide you with a hotel room.

my booking was made in December 2019 for 05/09/2020 to 10/09/2020 but on Vueling website, there's no flight going on 05/09/2020 to Alicante from Cardiff it's been changed to 03/09/2020 (which we cannot make as my husband cannot get extra time off).....Not received any notification of this ....today I received an e-mail still stating outbound flight for 05/09/2020 but informing me my inbound flight time for 10/09/2020 has been changed .......there's an acceptance button which I haven't clicked as I'm concerned they will then change outbound date + state I've accepted it without my knowledge......really don't know what to do ..... I've tried phoning but no answer i'd be grateful for any suggestions  ....thank you

If the flight has been changed by more than 3 hours, you are entitled to a refund.

  • flight time change, not an issue ........my issue is they not flying on booking date 5th September ......they now flying on 3rd.....I've just received an email from them.......saying I can cancel + have a flight credit
    I don't want a credit note I'd like a refund ..... I've tried phoning them ...the email is a no-reply e-address
I would be grateful for any suggestions

You are missing the point. If the flight time has changed significantly, even if on one leg only, and you booked both legs under the same booking reference, then you are entitled to a full refund (both ways) in 14 days. So help us to help you by telling us how many hours the return leg has moved by.
Forget the outbound, as, as far as they are concerned, it's schedule has not changed.

  • Loads of airlines are offering a voucher initially, but they know full well they owe you a refund and most will admit that when you firmly ask for one.  Just send an email stating that you do not accept their offer of a voucher and instead you expect them to refund the full cost of your flights as per your legal rights.  It will probably take longer than usual though.
